Hope you get it soon. I had the 700 as one of my top choices and I had planned on ordering in the spring. I ran across a super deal on the Timberline 1300 and couldn't pass it up. I ordered it Wed the 28th and it got here yesterday. Amazing fast service from Traeger.
It's finally here!! My 1300 arrived today. Here are the obligatory unboxing and final assembly pics. Just ignore the mess in the garage, when I shut the pool up this year everything just got thrown inside and I haven't ever cleaned up. I will get it fired up and seasoned tomorrow and then some Ribs for dinner.
I got my grill seasoned today and did a couple baby back rib racks for dinner. I am really impressed with this grill. It was 36° outside this morning when I fired up the grill, for the burn in. The grill went from dead cold to 500° in 35 minutes. I think that is outstanding. I did my ribs at 225° on SS for 3 hours and then turned it up to 250° and finished them off. They came out great, these are no wrap, no sauce ribs and they came out very moist and tender. I used Oakridge BBQ Competition rub for the first time and it is a great rub, good flavor with a little kick too it. These are some of the best ribs I have made, I am really loving this grill. Here are some pics.
My youngest son is getting married, in a small ceremony, Monday and I am bringing wings for the after party. This will be my first attempt at wings on my Traeger, hope they come out well. I have to do this in 2 steps because of the time involved. I am cooking them on SS at 180° for 1½ hrs today. I will pull them off and put them in the refrigerator, then finish them off tomorrow at 400°, to get them nice and crispy. At least this is the plan. Here is a shot of 11lbs of wings on my 1300.
Oh yes a review. LOVE IT! arrived on a pallet, putting it together was a snap. got the package with front shelf, pellets, searing grates and all that. did the burn in and then made 4 racks of baby backs, then some jerky, and recently a brisket. seriously love this smoker. the wifi app works great, I can start it from in the house and monitor the probe temps. very cool. I bought cold weather cover and have been using it at or below 32F on all cooks. no issues at all.
Had some stupid question for Rec Tec - they are super responsive.
I think my cooks have been the best yet! Highly recommend.
