Wish I had the ability to try 99% of what is posted on this site from back at day one. I, like others do searches or respond to posts and try things, then post. Ha, 7yo posts of good stuff like this one. 99%, No, not going to do the Ghost, Reaper, or X peppers now or later, but what a collection of other good stuff over the years. Not like it was fashionable or the newest latest thing in 2013 and is useless now. What was posted back then when I was struggling with briskets and pork butts is still good to know now today. Great for newbies looking for new stuff or someone bringing up old posts we missed we want to try. I have some Amish Mustard Eggs from a 2010 post that I just found in a revived post in July this year 2023 in the frig. Going to have to make some more soon. Haven't done my BBQ Cabbage in a while. I will put that on the 'to do' list also. Along with posts of how to help us fix up our old smokers or decide what to buy new next. What we originally found were the basics of smoking then, we find that they are still the basics now to get started for anyone who comes here new.
To me, this is the very best of any of the sites I go to. Yep, we all have our different equipment and different ways of doing things, but we are all sharing what we do with new recipes and methods of what works for us for others to consider in our posts. No bashing, ford vs chevys, glock vs colts, etc. Hey, mine is making smoke, if yours is not, (or your brisket is not tender enough, or flavorfull enough) or you are electric and I am gas, (all though we all know real wood burners which are an all night pain in the a$$ are better some of us have a hard time doing,) lets see if we can help with comments to help you fix that with what you have to work with attitude is very strong here.
Unlike other websites where no one knows what is involved in keeping it alive, $, and monitoring its progresion of how it is there for us, Thank, "Jeff". He is the man that created this site and keeps it going the right direction. Hats off to you Mr. Jeff.
