New to the group. Been cookin and smokin most of my life but never had a modern rig for smoking. Always used the BBQ, Big Chief or tried and true '50s fridge converted for smokin fish. Got an electric Masterbuilt for a Bday present recently so now really engaging in the craft.
Read up on smokin a whole chicken on the forums here (Bday present also came with a chicken, guess that was a hint), and I was impressed with all the great info and dialog so I joined up.
Brined bird yesterday with the slaughterhouse mix and its in the smoker right now.
Thanx for the welcome and all the great info
Daniel

Bird turned out pretty nice. Ridiculously moist, tender and smokey. I have the Masterbuilt 40 and the external smoke box, so I layered the chips in the Shute, hickory, apple, hickory. The only disappointment was the color, as it didn't brown up as much as expected. Other than that...fantastic. Everybody loved it.
Doin baby back ribs today, following the Xmas rib recipe process from the website. Except, I already have a slew of rubs and sauces, so using those up first
