Hello Everyone.... I'm Larry and I come from the smogie SoCal... I have been smoking with a regular bbq using the indirect method. And Im ready to get me a new Used Off-set smoker. I want a used one so I can modify it my way. I need advice on the 3 im looking at 3 different used smokers that need some tlc..
1. New Braunfels horizontal off-set
2. Brinkman Trailmaster horizontal off-set
3. Brinkman Vertical
All need some love and are similar in price. I know the quality of the NB but it seems to be a little worse off..
Give me some advise guys and gals.. Love all the threads I have read so far...

Welcome to the forum!

Glad to have you with us!

I would pick the one with the thickest steel.

The Steel on NB is going to be about twice as thick as the others. Baring rust through, the NB is the best choice as sanding, painting and similar Mods will be needed for either horizontal. I have not used a Brinkman Vertical other than a similar Bullet type water smoker from Meco and that I would RUN from let alone Pay for one...JJ

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a hot day in fall,  here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
