My name is Jay and my wife,Phyllis, and I have lived in Mobile, AL. for 40 years.

After 28 years of work, I retired

from Honeywell in 2009 as a senior plant process control analyst, hence my great joy playing with gadgets.

My wife and daughter gave me a Big Green Egg as a retirement gift and I really had fun learning the basics of smoking on it.  While visiting the Jack Daniels Invitational BBQ Championship in 2010, I purchased a temperature controller for the Egg and that has really changed my way of smoking on the Egg.  Maintaining low temperatures (220 - 240) is very easy on the Egg now.

Two years ago, I purchased a MasterBuilt electric smoker and have really enjoyed using it.  The temperature control on this unit is excellent.

I purchased Jeff's rub and sauce recipes and have been receiving his emails for about 4 years.  During that time, I have built up a respectable list of his recipes.

Looking forward to chatting with you.

Jay
