New to smoking and the forum!

I've been snooping here for a while; thought I'd finally say Hey!  I'm joining you from western Pennylvania; recently widowed with 4 grown kids, three of which live with me along with a daughter in law and grandson. 

We spend a lot of time in our back yard grilling, hanging out, having a good time.  I'm quite a do it yourselfer.  Last year's project was a brick oven.   A short time ago my 20 yr old son said, "Lets make a smoke house".  So we did.

It is a wooden building (4x4; 6 ft high).  We are still finishing it up, but I'm looking forward to using it soon.

I enjoy reading all your posts and look forward to your wisdom!!

 Welcome to the forum Susan!  Glad to have you with us. Always nice to have the family involved. We would love to see some pics of your projects. If you are new to smoking, be sure to take the 5-day ecourse! It is awesome and will teach you all the basics.

Susan, welcome to the SMF Family!  We love it when lurkers finally decide that they want to be part of this great group.

A number of members here have built wood smoke houses and have had great results with them.

I know I would love to see pics of your brick oven!

Great looking oven Sue - We are newbies with a wood fired oven and  starting to enjoy using the oven for chicken and veggies too. Do you have any recipes to share from yours?

That is a great looking oven...you and Scar have me so envious! I see you are from New Castle...used to live in Cranberry Twp (North Hills of PGH) and had friends in New Castle.
