I found this Hen of the Woods mushroom the last time I went looking for Chaterelles and thought of you...

I made a Stroganoff using the mushroom in place of the pasta noodles. Delicious!

I made a Stroganoff using the mushroom in place of the pasta noodles. Delicious!

Jed @bauchjw sent me some of those a couple years back. I am not a big mushroom guy but when I roasted them they were damn good. Have yet to find them in any store up here.

I have never seen them for sale in a store. I have seen places that sell them online though.
