Hello from Maine. Happy to say I've finally got my first smoker. Ordered a Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560 the other day, tracking says it should be here the first couple days in August! My love for food started from spending time grilling and smoking with my dad growing up. He's passed now and I have a 1 year old son of my own so I'm excited to pass the fun on to the next generation. Looking forward to learning old and new tips and tricks from you all.

Welcome Rusty from another newbie here. Lots of knowledge to be gleaned from the old smokers here ( :emoji_laughing: ). But be forewarned we are all a bunch of voyeurs here and we love food porn.

Well, my smoker came in a couple weeks ago. Preseasoned and broke it in the first chance I had. 5 lb pork butt for 3.5 hours unwrapped at 250F to an internal temp of 165, and then another 4.5 hours wrapped at about 225F to internal temp 205. Had to drop the temp down to time it right for our guests. Came out super tender and juicy, pulled the bone right out.

Looks great! Tender and juicy, and tasted good, right? That's everything you can ask for. I'd devour a plate of that right now, and it's 730am. LOL. Enjoy, and thanks for sharing. Seems like you are well on your way.
