So, these things have been catching my eye for quite some time. I just didn't want to part with 150$ for one. The other day I got a notice from Brad's Deals of an air fryer for 69.99/free shipping. So I bit the smaller bullet and bought it. 5.5 liter, 1800w. 7 program modes plus manual settings. Max temp 400deg.

Came in several days ago. We haven't done a lot of cooking on it but home cut fries, frozen fries, frozen onion rings, reheat egg rolls, couple of links of sausage and warmed up dinner rolls. The home cut fries work better when they're par boiled, cooking up crispy outside and fluffy on the insides. Sausages cooked to perfection. Frozen fries and onion rings perfect.

I've also been thinking of one of these but I already have a mess of appliances I don't use. Our cupboard and counter top space is already cluttered. I just use the oven for frozen fries or if I want good steak fries I cut up some nice russets or yukons and fry them in oil in my cast iron pan using the induction burner for precise temp. Works great.

Nice thing about the air fryer is you don't have the oil to deal with afterwards.

We're appliance poor around here as well. But it works well for what we want and less cleanup than that of a deep fryer with the "what to do with the oil" question.

I've been looking at those for a long time too.  Price had me discouraged.  Good to hear that they work pretty good.
