That's rough. Was there ever any follow up with the cause of the explosion?...JJ

Having a few beers and My mates wife turned the bbq gas on with the lid down, hit the ignition and “thought” it was lit. 5 mins later opens lid, oh it’s not lit hit ignition and boom she was engulfed.

Burnt all her eyebrows & fringe off, very lucky.

I saw that video on TV a few nights ago, I can't remember which show it was on. I thought for sure it was going to be one of those crazy Russian videos you see on YouTube.
Why was there a bucket full of lighter fluid lying around?
I hope he mends well, that was crazy to see.

WOW...bet he dont do that again.
Had a buddy who's dad was burning out stumps with fuel oil...
Rimmed the stumps with cinder blocks, added a quart (approximately) of fuel oil and touched it off with a lit wad of paper.
His son wanted to help...he grabbed a gas can and poured about a gallon of gas on a stump that had burned out. He was standing directly over the stump, face down and looking right at it..Luckily I realized what was about to happen and snatched his shirt a dragged him back just before the match hit the gas and a fire ball not dissimilar to that in the video bellowed about 15 feet in the air...luckily the cinder blocks and the small hole from the partially burned out stump directed 95% of it straight up.
The explosion moved ALL the cinder blocks a foot and one several...
Luckily Billy only burned his eyebrows and scorched his hair a bit...his face had a pretty sever sunburn look but all in all he was unscathed...scared $#itless but relatively not seriously hurt.

Wow, he was lucky you were onto it.

People just don’t think or realise how dangerous fuel and a match are.
