More smoke coming out of my cold smoker than the main unit

All of a sudden, I find that there's more smoke seeping out of the top of my MasterBuilt Cold Smoke Kit For Digital Electric Smokers than the main unit. I've cleaned it and ensured that all the fittings are tight (letting gravity do the work).

Any ideas what the problem might be?

not sure of your set up, is your smoker to cold maybe, not sure where you live,maybe try putting a little heat in your smoker with top vent open to create a better draft.

Thanks but this seems to be a new problem. Worked just fine before. Opening the vent fully helped but didn't fully resolve.

I had one of those things for a while, but it broke & I never bought another one. I had the same problem & mine was caused by creosote build up around the lid. I just removed the hinge & put the lid back on with a brick on it. That took care of the problem.
