Got to feed a crew tomorrow at 3pm and told the local meat shop I needed 7 butts around 10lbs each.
Would up 7 @ 86lbs ! Probably the largest cook on the MBGF 1050.
Got 'em juiced up with Kosmos Q pork injection and lathered down in various flavors.

1050 is loaded with B&B lump and lots of pecan chunks.
Plan is to pan and wrap when bark sets and finish some in the oven and some in the MES 40.
Gonna be a long night but setting thermo alarms before napping 😴.

Lookin good. Good thinkin on the pans. I did 8 for a wedding once on the 1050, had a bit of a flare up. Luckily I caught it and didn't do much damage. 👍

I suffered the same experience last yr and leaned my lesson! I was also lucky with no loss of meat.

The lack of sleep wove worth it! Have fun
Got a pretty good 4 hr nap so no to bad...yet

Isn't lack of sleep a sign of a good cook?
Well I won't need them usual Melatonin tonight 😴

It was fast and furious once the line formed and only got to snap 1 Pic.
They all turned out good and seemed to be enjoyed by the crew.

Looks awesome! I've had lots of meat off my buddies 1050 and it's always awesome. I didn't realize it would fit 7 butts

Thanks Ryan it was a fun cook and managed to save 2 for the office on Monday. I pulled them when I for home and managed a few bites. Really wasn't hungry after smelling them for 24 hrs 😆

Wow Keith, that’s a bunch of meat to smoke up. Looks like you nailed it my friend. That last pic looks really tasty. I am sure the crew enjoyed… Nice job! 👍

It was a tight fit with their size Jeff but managed to get 4 on the bottom and 3 middle rack. I keep adjusting the temp to airflow. But panned was a different story.
Put 2 in the oven and 1 in the MES 40.
I did 7 last yr but they weren't over 10lb each!

Thanks Justin and had planned to putting 2 on the new PBC but was too worried (skeered) about an overnight cook on it even with alarms. Gotta try a long daylight cook first 🤔! I always pull them right before they are served to remove the excess fat and add more rub and juices in the mix.
