Hi All, and forgive me asking a techie question on a smoking food site; but for the fact that we all post so many luscious smoking photos and so maybe the gracious admin will allow my query.

My MAC photos lately are appearing squashed/stubby/shorter than they are - as if an altered mirror at the fair that makes one look more stout.

I Google searched how to fix and it mentions "Preview" and I don't have any "preview" option in my iPhoto editing or toolbar or anything.

I've looked for compress or anything that maybe I clicked accidentally and cannot determine what on earth it is or how to fix. (My latest avatar thus being a little more squashed than it should be, and the one before that too).

If any IT folk out there can offer a quick fix tip, I'd be so grateful, and my smoky photos won't look all smooshed and too fat.

Thank you TONS and happy Tuesday to all!

Cheers! - Leah

Hi Leah, hard to see on the phone but your avatar doesn't appear squashed to me. One thing that comes to mind is the screen resolution on your computer. I've inadvertantly reset mine and it can have weird effects on the aspect ratio. Since my macbook has been commandeered by my wife, I have no way to check into what adjustments are available or possible, but think back to any arbitrary settings you may have made before the problem began.

Thank you Andrew!

Humor me now, neophyte to technology and all; but how do I see where my resolution is or if I changed it?

Thanks tons! I deleted the super squashed avatar that had me looking much shorter/fatter, and kept the semi squashed.

Thanks for info!!! Cheers! - Leah

Rather than trying to talk you through this by memory, which would likely compound the issue, I did a little searching and discovered this is a known issue. It's addressed here and might fix your problem.

Sorry I can't be of more help but without direct access to my laptop I don't want to guess and steer you wrong. My wife's in the middle of a long project so I cant just jump on the computer. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much Andrew!
So far none of these remedies work and I just must have clicked something some weeks back that made the change???
In any event, happy midweek to you and thank you for these valid attempts and tips as that's mighty appreciated!
Cheers! - Leah
