Should have said it's life a smart watch just dumber. As far as the cash conversation, we prefer cash at my part time job so we don't have to pay fees and neither does the customer.

Not long ago. I bought a couple of things at Walmart. That totaled 15.50. I gave her a 20.00 bill. And 50 cents. She had no idea what to do. She said I gave her too much money. I explained to her that I wanted 5.00 back. She had to get her manager for help. HE didn't understand either. Gave up. And paid with my debit card.

I really love the struggle when I put down green backs and they ring it up before I get the change out.

I can attest to those gas / service station antics. We all pumped gas or had a buddy who worked at a station.
We carry cash to avoid 3% CC charges. Started writing more checks now. How many of those youngsters can write out $4605.34?
My wife is tech challenged. She really wanted a printed manual for the new range. Nowadays you get a QRL. All I can tell her is it's different world.

My turn:

Shopping at SuperStore (just a big supermarket) and I couldn't find Cheese Whiz.

Asked one girl (20 something) who is one of those pickers who fill phone orders and she looked like the proverbial deer in the headlights

Oh gawd, said thanks and two minutes later asked another (different picker/same age). I even showed her a picture of the jar and she directed me to the deli section thinking it was real cheese.

Neither had a clue/didn't even know what it was.

Where do they find these people?

You should have said I want a watch for my wrist, not a wrist watch, lol

But yes there are things going on in their world that confuse me a bit , or I just don't get it .

Why did they call it a wristwatch? Should it have been a wrist clock? I have never asked this question before. I'm old, I just hope I can still figure out the new and improved way in a few more years. At least I can still make a fire and cook over it.

I worked at a full service station when I was young. It was one of the last "full service" stations left in Colorado. Watched a guy pull up to the pump with his tank door on the wrong side. He realized and got in his car and tried again... and again...and again. I bet he drove around the gas pumps 10 times, even trying to stretch the hose across the car . He never did fill up, just got in his car and drove away. That was over 20 years ago and I still wonder if that guy ever got gas in his car

I've lost count of the times a cashier gave me too much back in change, lately. I always correct their mistake, and return the overage. Then they look at me like I'm weird.

I used to do that but eventually stopped because it's become so common that it's no longer just a mistake but exactly the title of this thread. The majority of us have taken advantage of mislabeled meat for the awesome deal and patted ourselves on the back and congratulated each other for doing it.
