While flipping my bag of Thai jerky, I knocked a 1-gallon jar of 18 month old kimchi out of the refrigerator and into the floor! It shattered...

I was going to sample it this weekend!

Dang it man, food tragedy at its worst.

Oh no !!!!    Did the linoleum melt ??    Bummer....   I've got some old fermented cabbage that's a favorite...

Hey, you want to share your kimche recipe...   PM or otherwise..   I've never made it...

No problem, Charlie. Open all of your windows and doors and put a fan where the jar broke. Sooner or later, someone will call the EPA and they will come and declare your residence a disaster area and do a federal clean up of hazardous waste. Then your troubles will all be taken care of.

Dave, this is the part that makes me want to cry the most!

I didn't make it, it was made FOR ME by one of my sausage making friend's wife, she was born and raised in Korea! She made this for me in June of 2015 and said that it would be best if I could let it rest for over a year!

I called her husband tonight and told him what happened.... after the scolding, I was told that I would have more coming soon...

Several of us are supposed to get with her in the next few months to make a large batch, maybe I can pass along some ideas then.

That's heartbreaking Dave!

I studied Tae Kwon Do for many years when I was younger.

Our Korean Master would bring kimchi to the school a couple of times a month.

That stuff was killer good.

Hey Buddy, I feel your Pain.  Probably a few choice words through all the crying

No!!!!!!!

Scoop it up off the floor, five second rule and all. I hear chunks of glass aren't too bad for you body.
As in Roughage??

Sorry for your loss, Charlie!!

Bad smell??---How 'bout dripping some "Liquid Smoke" in the area?? Only thing it might be good for.

You know it could've been worse. If it had been a bottle of fish sauce, you'd have to burn the house down to get rid of the smell!
