I been diabetic for some 20+ years. Way back i took meds then self injections where i had to pretty much guess how much to take.
Got on a insulin tubed pump that was good but you still had to calculated your intake. Omnipod came out which was tubeless which was a plus but i had to carry a PDM just a bit bigger than one them old pagers. Then the Dexcom g4 which took your BG reading every 15 mins. I still had to input those reading into my PDM and give a bolus for the carbs eating. Basil delivery was automatic with some set ratios. Dexcom evolved thru the G5 and now the G6 and soon the G7. No finger sticks since using the Dexcoms.
Recently i was upgraded from the original Omnipod PDM to the new Omnipod Dash which is bluetooth and communicates way better with the new Dash PDM. Soon the FDA will release the new Omnipod 5 which will work wifi/bluetooth with the G6/G7 Dexcom.
Here is the original Omnipod (left) and the new Dash (right).....Huge medical advancements in Diabetes.
