I picked up a # 1 Enterprise Sausage Stuffer today!

What a great find this was! My dad had a #32 when he started his grocery stores 35 years ago. He is giving me grief about an insert for it.He had a plastic insert for inside the hopper. It was form molded to fit perfect. I have checked Google to buy the insert and can't find one anywhere. Does anyone know where I can buy one? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated! I'll bet if ya can't find one you could have one made. They can  form plexi glass into all kinds of shapes. So I would think they could form a food grade plastic as well.

I'm not finding one..... Enterprise is now Chop-rite.... Look around for chop-rite or contact some product sellers and see if there was a insert liner ever made. There are stainless steel liners but thats for straining.

Go hit the (auction) estate sales in Lancaster County ,PA I seen enterprise stuffers and parts at just about everyone i went to. Always passed on them cuz just to heavy for me.

Thanks for the input! My brother and I calmed Dad down. When he saw how good the condition was he stopped worrying about it. I'm going to have it sand blasted to get the paint off the arch and remove the surface oxidation of rust. There is no pitting! Wooooo Hooooo! Then I'll give it a good season and we're off! This stuffer is a # 1 not a #25 or a #35. The patent was 1883 and manufacturer date was 1876. I just can't get over the condition!

Jalan43, first great looking stuffer......I really love the vintage stuffer........I would not sand blast it, sandblasting can be pretty harsh on the base material. Maybe look at soda blasting or some type of shell would be gentle enough so it will not damage the stuffer. I was thinking about the liner, what if you were to modify a food grade bucket to fit. Weather you can find one and just cut the rim off or if you have to cut the rim and bottom off and slit the side so it will overlap and slid into the stuffer ??? The last thought was, if you know someone or have a sheet metal shop near by, have them fabricate you one  from stainless ….I could do it, but without having the stuffer it would be difficult. For someone that can take good measurements it shouldn’t be a problem……..

It's funny you say that! I just got off the phone with a guy that does soda blasting. He's gonna do it for me in two weeks when he gets back from vacation! I have given up on the liner because Dad finally caved. It does not need the liner. After soda blasting and seasoning it will look like the day they made it 124 yrs ago!  Thanks Shoneyboy, Jeff!
