Hello all, I just got a 40" masterbuilt electric smoker with thermometer. Looking at smoking two butts for a new years party. Any tips never done it before and just trying to scour the web for good info.

Reading a lot on the amnps and mailbox mod. Looks like I have enough time to have santa get me another gift

Hello chumly. Here is a link to get you started          http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/57139/basic-pulled-pork-smoke

Pulled pork is very forgiving and hard to mess up. Figure 1.5 to 2 hours per lb. if cooking low and slow @ 225 or so.

That's per butt, don't add them together.

I'm just down the road from you near Neosho. Glad to have you with us.

Chuck

Hello and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything.
