Greetings all, from dreary, rainy, yet unusually warm Virginia Beach. Been enjoying smoking and eating smoked meats for years, more eating than smoking. Always seeking to learn. Have a tube smoker and am currently using an MES, and learning a lot about smoke issues with the MES. Not deterred, just seeking out better ways to make better product.

Love to smoke for others, though the state of Alabama has asked me not to smoke for the church because every time I do, they have a tornado. go figure.

Any how, look forward to learning a lot in here.

Welcome aboard, the tornado is probably caused by all the people rushing to eat your food.

Bear, didn't see your post until after the fact, but will read your article for sure. Thanks.

Smoked a couple butts, low and slow. Wife said they were my best ever. Used my AMNP and applewood pellets. I have never nuked the pellets before and have had trouble keeping them lit and flair ups in the past. Put a few things I learned here to work, nuked the pellets, three 1 minute cycles, also replace the drip pan with a disposable rectangular pan that was full length but not full width, to allow air and smoke to move. Tray and pellets worked just perfect, giving me about 6 hours of perfect smoke per tray. Great bark, pulled easily, tastes great, who could ask for more?

Good morning and welcome to the forum from a muggy wet day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
