Good Que Suggestions, Please

We will be traveling from central Texas to the North Carolina coast next week. As yet we haven't decided whether our route will be I35 North to I40 and East through Arkansas and Tennessee or whether it will be I20 East through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and I85 through South Carolina.

In any event, I would like to have your suggestions for good places to stop for barbecue and/or authentic home-style southern cooking.

just outside of Memphis is Germantown... this place called "The Commissary" has the best we found in the Memphis area....

The Commissary was featured on BBQ Crawl the other night.... Diva Q said she's been there a few times... that's how good it is.... I'm sure this is to late though...
