I could just say to leave, but as we all know it is not so easy to do that. Reminds me that I have to get out of NY too...lol

Retired, house is paid off and the rest of the family lives not too far away. Not going anywhere.

Can only hope they fix the voting in this state to make it fair so we can have a better Gov like in the past.

I only have to fill up about once a month now so it isn't as bad as when I was working.

Houses paid off, still working, but looks like my kids won't be here. Son lives and teaches in NH and my daughter is going to Boston in Feb. So we will be out in a few years, no fixing this state.

Price for regular gas is averaging $5.77 in the greater Seattle area. Report just came out that it may hit $8 by late summer, unless something changes.

This is getting bad. $4 in Denver, paid $3.66 at Costco on Monday.

It's all a ripple effect . Gonna take some time for it to come around even if things changed for the better today .

I feel for people that were pay check to pay check berfore any of this happened .
Between groceries and fuel , peoples lives could be ruined .
Didn't need to be .

Just checked, cheapest Costco gas to me (20 miles away) is still $4.99.

Agreed, between food and gas living costs are insane. We can leave Kroger with one bag and it could be $60-$80.

My wife and I just had this discussion after my trip to Costco where the beef was spendy, and its worse at Kroger. Large families and those with little ones have to be hemorrhaging cash just to eat.

Diesel in Eugene Oregon is 6.19 to 6.39.

If government really cared about increasing prices they could do a temporary moratorium on taxes and fees. That would lower per gallon cost by $.64.

....and the state is trying to raise the per gallon tax another $.15 to $.79. They had originally wanted another $.40 per gallon which would have taken tax to $1.04 per gallon.

....and of course no new California or Oregon refineries in 40-50 years. Current problem is made worse because we haven't built a stronger supply chain in the past 2 generations.

Ever notice on the West Coast that as soon as oil prices drop, a refinery is taken out of service for "maintenance"? Thereby keeping or increasing the current prices.

Actually California closures have been due to regulation and fines driven by the push to go 100% electric by 2035(?). Cali used to have 41 refineries. 2 more have closed so Cali is down to 7(?).
The last refinery in Oregon closed in the 70's(?). Oregon is dependent on a single pipeline coming down from northern Washington State. West coast being fueled by overseas refineries in Korea and elsewhere including Jamaica. Facts seem to support it's cheaper for them to source finished fuel from overseas and resell it rather than chase regulatory compliance in California.

And....there are large oil fields under and off shore California. No one is allowed to access it. Add California forces closure of existing refineries......

I'm going to leave that there.
No desire to get political.

What I have in the red square is gas that is sold on indian reserve land and is discounted to the white man. Natives pay a lot less. Even at those prices its still damn expensive. The price is in liters not US gallons. Easy to figure out per gallon if you want to. No wonder food costs so much.

$4.19 - $4.29 all around me in Ohio. Next town over is usually $0.20 cheaper and isn't. Sam's usually $0.40. - $0.50 cheaper and now is only a few cents under at $4.16. UPDATE - a couple hours after I posted they all went to $4.99

Minnesota just pushed past $4/ gallon for the first time in a long time time. Looking at $4.09/gal currently. The surcharge for diesel on every shipment is up 45%. For those who don't know freight moves at a cost per mile usually. The fuel surcharge is on top of that charge and changes with diesel prices. This is the highest surcharge I've seen in almost 20 years. Pretty soon truckers are going to park the trucks again like 08-14. If that happens, this is doing to get really ugly.

Try $7.60 to $8.25+ a gallon for diesel fuel around here in glorious NorCal.
House is paid off, retired with a better income than when I was working until the day I die, and still feeling the sting. I can't wait to escape Cali's illegal oppression, so I can move my wife and myself to somewhere in America!!!

When you find a good to state to move too let me know? I will be out of NY (Commiefornia east) hopefully in the next 5 years max. Going to be paying above $4/gal for the first time at Costco today.
