Took the day off and went King Salmon fishing today off the nearby California coast out of Half Moon Bay, CA on the vessel New Captain Pete.

Tied up next to the New Pete in HMB back in 2010 when we were bringing my uncles new boat up from Marina Del Rey. Got a rude wake up call at 12am. Tsunami was on the way from Fukashima. Port told us to leave for high ground or open ocean. Being boat people we headed out to sea. We were 20 miles offshore of San Fran when the remnants of the tsunami hit California. Didn't know if we'd have a place to tie up at the end of the day.

Bear,  No downrigger.  Just weighted bait (sardine) with a flasher,........oh and yours truly whispering bribes to the fishing gods.  Actually must confess that I left the rod in the rod holder to go and get my jacket.  While slipping the jacket on in the cabin, I was watching the rod when suddenly it started dancing.  Go flying out of the cabin with a mouth full of Salmon..... Just got word that I'm going out again on Sunday.  Better make a Salmon roll this time.
