First meatloaf on original Weber kettle 22

Smoking a bacon wrapped 80/20 Meatloaf mixed with sautéed red onion, red bell pepper, and mushroom. Using royal oak briquettes, and cowboy cherry chunks. Thought I’d share, and share some pics. Let everyone know how it turns out. Love to hear any of your recipes, setups, or suggestions for meatloaf on the Weber kettle.

Thank you everyone. Very good, have never done a meatloaf outside of oven, and loaf pan, or attempted bacon wrap before. This definitely brings meatloaf to another level, and so much fun on a beautiful spring evening in Michigan. If I have to be picky, maybe use a stronger wood, and/or less bacon so smoke penetrates meat more. Definitely gonna do another and maybe tweak some things. All in all couldn’t be happier for my first attempt. Delicious

Probably try with hickory or mesquite next time, and just lay a couple strips of bacon on top, instead of completely wrapping it. That bacon weave wrap does look pretty cool though.
