Well, I could not wait! I called a buddy that grows tomatoes hydroponically in a controlled greenhouse and bartered some bacon for a fresh tomato. Man O man am I glad I did!!!

Looks good. I been hiding a couple pounds of extra thick for just such an occasion. Half my crew will be out of the house tonight so it will be BLT's for the rest of us...JJ

Killer looking BLT IDS, that had to be delicious!

Nice looking BLT you've plated Inda. Is it to late for a take out order?

Point for sure
Chris

LOL!.....Hiding bacon! Thanks Chef jj, BLT's are a weakness of mine. Planting tomatoes in the garden recenlty had me craving one!

Thanks Dan! I used 2.5% salt in this batch, little salty for my tastes, but it makes an AWESOME BLT! The extra salt, no need to salt the tomato on the sammy! I was in taste sensory heaven!

LOL! Sammies will be ready today at noon...I have just enough tomato left over for two sammies.

Fresh 'maters off the vine should come in last week of may/first week of June....

There's 250~300# of fish carcasses trench composted in that bed over the winter, along with 4" of homemade compost....Those maters are gonna grow like bean stalks!!!

Excellent looking BLT!
Boy you can't beat a BLT with a good tomato, crispy lettuce, & homemade bacon!

That BLT has my name written all over it!...Well, until you ate it!!

Seriously love blts, love them even more during the summer when the local tomatoes are in.

Are we related xray???? LOL!!!!

I think we are! Funny, I never got that pound of bacon for Christmas.

Good luck with the tomato harvest this year. I really try not to eat tomatoes during the winter. They’re just so bland and lifeless.

Now during the summer once they come in. I literally eat cucumber and tomato salad daily. I don’t get sick of it and usually drop a few lbs too.

Fortunately, the mild climate here lends to year round tomato production with a little help from a green house. My friend composts inside his green house to generate heat during the winter...keeps it just warm enough with the added benefit that the bump in CO2 REALLY makes the plants take off!

reminds me of club sandwiches at the deli by an office i used to go to. those look awesome!

Wow! Tomatoes year round!! Up here I plant my tomatoes late May after the last frost and then harvest in Aug! Nothing beats homemade Bacon garden fresh tomato BLT!!!

Nice raised beds! How does the watering system work?
