Ordered supplies to make it a matchless stove.

Cool !!!
But "Frank" is gonna get jealous---You're spending to much time away from Frank!!

Setup a cooking area by the stove, pulled out my abused SG90 griddle, cleaned, buffed, oiled and got a little griddle practice in.

The wife is loving me at this point, why? Because I was banned from the kitchen Thanksgiving week(end) and have been cooking exclusively outside.

I have been having a blast on the griddle, but somethings just missing and I cant put my finger on it.

OK, I figured out was missing...

Some new toys!!!

The Camp Chef SG100 came in with some other toys and I spent a few days seasoning it, one day I seasoned it from 10 am in the morning till about 9 pm.
Since the seasoning process is of a million opinions, I wont go into it specifically.

  • Flax Seed oil
  • Buffed with 0000 Steel Wool
  • rinse repeat...you get the picture

The grease cup is a must for this griddle

  • This one has the diffusers, unlike my SG90. I season this griddle before and after each cook and the bottom and sides are sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray prior to every cook.

  • Love new toys! This is gonna be invaluable for MANDAY 7!

So it's a few days after Thanksgiving and I have been easing my way back into the kitchen, checked out the leftover situation and suggested Thanksgiving Hot Pockets, it has to be at least two days after thanksgiving before I start probing the leftovers for anything other than...well... just leftovers.
First it was a trip to the Home Depot to grab some stuff that I actually never got because I got sidetracked and bought these instead.

Thanksgiving Hot Pockets

I was still working on seasoning the new skillet and wanted to play a bit

I made some 50/50 wheat/white pizza dough.
  • Laura tossed together the pockets.

I tossed together some Turkey soup and made a Split Pea soup for my dad.
My parents neighbor who passed away years ago used to make it for my dad and he loved it.
My mom tells me this story every time someone makes a Bone in Ham, I asked why she didn't make it for him, her reply, "I don't like Split Pea Soup" my reply..."REALLY!
Anyhow I listened closely as she said what she believed was in it.

  • Then I had free reign on the leftovers and made some Turkey Soup.
