Hi gang

You all missed a good competition this past weekend in Vista. There were 50 teams that competed and some of them were in the TOY (Team of the Year) competition.

Our own Aaron Black -- Meat Inc had a pretty good showing

His team took 1st in Pork  8th in Ribs and 8th overall.

If you have never met Aaron you are missing out. He is pretty regular with wins in People choice. He serves a larger variety of samples than  any other team and his food rocks.  He was preparing is surprise entry when Mrs Scar and I were in the booth. I was a bacon fish taco with guacamole. Yes the bacon was the shell. We had another obligation and could not stay to see the finished product but what we did see looked awesome.

He and his team have way more fun that anyone else on the circuit.  If he does not have a DJ in his booth you will hear the team theme song Party blasting from some sound device.

Congrats Aaron and the Meat Inc team for a great showing in Vista - I think the next stop is Dana Point

Here is a pic of Aaron and Harry Soo (Slap Yo Daddy)

Great job Aaron and team

Thanks for the words Scarbelly!  If we're not having fun, there's no point in doing it!  We are really only moderately successful in the competition side and we focus a lot of energy on the People's Choice side.  It's a ton of fun serving up all kinds of great BBQ to the people who come out and spend their hard earned money.  We don't serve anything but great BBQ to the public!

If you see us out there on the competition circuit - make sure you stop by.

This forum is a huge wealth of information and there are lots of talented cooks around but if you have any questions about smoking just about anything, please ask!

Yes - that is 75lbs (3 x 25# stacks) of Pig Candy in the last picture.  This is our new and improved method of maximizing our cooking space - even on that big smoker!
