Hello all, my name is Justin. I've been smoking meats and learning since I got my first chargriller Akorn about 3.5 years ago. Just upgraded to my Kamado Joe Big Joe about a month and a half ago, and I love it! Still haven't sold my Akorn. I still have quite the bond with it haha I also have a MES 30 with the cold smoker attachment that I use primarily for side dishes like smoked Mac n cheese or making jerky.

Here's some pics of previous cooks, starting with my most recent brisket. The first one on the big Joe. Was probably my 7th brisket attempt lol but my first time doing the bluedawg method. It was hands down the best brisket I've made yet. Cooked it around 300* with a simple SPOG rub.

Anyways, I'm glad to be a part of this board and enjoy reading all the awesome cooks and learning something new everyday. Enjoy!

Welcome to SMF, you'll fit right in by the looks of it!!
I hope so! I love learning AND giving advice after a few years of trial and error.

Welcome aboard!

Those are a couple of nice looking cookers!

And some good looking Q too!

Al

Thanks AL! I liked the electric smoker for a couple of months, but IMHO you cant beat the lump/wood smoke flavor and texture.
