I’m in the process of deciding on a partner in crime for my Kamado Joe Classic 2. I want something with additional space. I will not be getting rid of the Classic. Below are the 3 options I’ve narrowed it down to:

1. Primo XL
2. Big Joe
3. Primo CXL

any feedback or other suggestions.

I have no experience with any of them but I've seen several of Malcom Reed's videos where he uses a Primo and it does look like a nice cooker. According to their ads Primo is the only ceramic made in the US if that means anything to you. Good luck!

Thinking outside the box a bit....how about a Weber 26? Certainly lighter and easier to move around. Hasty Bake, Smokeslinger and Lone Star also make great grills. Lot of good tools out there.

I want to stick with a Kamado and this will be built into my outdoor kitchen replacing a flattop that I currently have installed.

If I still had my Classic II and it needed a partner, I would go Big Joe for sure. Especially if it was going to be built in and not moved around. I sold the Classic because the Kettle and WSM were getting all the love. And I needed the room. I did enjoy cooking on it though.

Big Joe because you loved your Classic, or specific reasons over the Primo?

Heck, if someone is going to spend ceramic dollar amounts, why not just get a Ranch Kettle and have plenty of space?

gaahhhhhhh, you all are killin me... I really was sold on the Primo XL based on the shape. also, probably would fit in my outdoor kitchen better as it would be less cutting in the granite and more room at the bar across from it.
And Primo made in the US of A !

Well then, that's what I would do. Another plus to the Primo, it is a much better two zone cooker.
So, let us know when you get it home and please take pictures.😁
