My wife asked me if I was going to tailor something on the BBQ for President's Day? Hadn't thought about it, but I did have some beef ribs in the freezer, so maybe a LBJ tribute?
Hit these the night before with some SPOG and Meat Church Holy Voodoo.

Then into the GMG at 250°. This was no small feat as we were having a wind storm yesterday with gusts 30-40 mph. This was what they looked like after 4 hours:

After that, I put them in a foil pan with a few cups of beef broth, apple juice, and Worchestershire sauce for another hour. Came out pretty good, still moist inside.

Mike, we love beef back ribs, but I've only cooked them as a whole rack. Yours look really good and I just might have try cooking them that way...

Funny you should mention LBJ, my Grandparents had a ranch in Texas and would get invited to fundraisers and such. Johnson's "Barbecue Chef" was Walter Jetton, who did write a couple of cookbooks.
