Battle of the Stones

Well , I had to take a break from the forum

  So I went to the Hospital

 

I had a hankering for PAIN and AGONY

  

They told me I had a 6mm blockage in the left Kidney (this sound familiar?)

The only way to remedy this ( they said ) was Lithotripsy.

Next they had called an Ambulance to transfer me to St. Luke's in Maumee

.

(flash forward 30 min.)

The Nurse( and no, I had to get the UU-UU-glllyyy one ) put a port in my arm and fed it Normal Saline and 2 units of Dilaudin(sp.) and the next thing I know,  I was

...

All weekend long I was fed this ,between placing a stint and placing a drain out my side,

until this morning ...

the Doc says I can go home for the night and be back at 2pm tomorrow for the Triptisy thingy

Now I'm wondering if I should know something??? Go Home for the night

I am suposed to have my Litho. at 3pm., so maybe I'll see ya Friday;(gulp) I hope

Thanks guys, tomorrow will be the hardest, I had Litho. 7 yrs. ago and it   HURT LIKE ****

But the worst thing is, are you ready?????? This is mt 5th time in a Hosp. for stones

, thank God it is Calcium making them,if it was Lipids or worse, MEAT , I couldn't go on, just shoot me , cause I'm gonna eat meat anyhow.It's hard , giving up Cheese and Milk and such , but better than..........

Had a stone last year  Hurts like hell,   Lithotripsy hurts also. It's more like someone beat you .

 But i'd much rather be beat than pass another stone

Man I used to get stones a lot. Last time in the hosp the nurse told me she had 3 kids that took almost 20 hours of labor and has had kidney stones twice. She said she would rather go thru childbirth three more times than have one more kidney stone.

I have never had one but my Dad had them all the time...The very best to you and when you feel like a good looking nurse let me know and I will send you one up...lol

Stan, None of that sounds like Fun...Well, I was on Dilaudid for a week, I think it was a week ,'cause I was Hiiiigh!

I have had kidney stones 1 time, and I agree I'd rather take a severe Azz whooping with a baseball bat then have them again. I was in the navy when I had them. They doped me up with IV pain killers and medevaced me off the ship to the Hospital.  They used ultrasonic waves to help break up the stones, how ever I still had too pass them. I remember this well as the pain was so intense even on the pain killers it put me in tears

. I feel for ya buddy and wish you didn't have to go threw this again, especially for the 5th time 

. I wish you a very speedy recovery.

Stan, I have no idea what that is like.... I'd like to keep it that way.... Pinch the nurses and tell 'em "the drugs made me do it..."

Oldschool Stan, I feel your pain -

My first stone hurt so bad I halucinated and they put me on morphine. 4mm, I passed it in a week.  Second stone was the size of a golf ball - after the lithotripsy I passed dozens of stones, one of them 8mm (4 or 5 grains of rice stuck together). 2 weeks of constant pain & vomiting if I tried to eat or drink.

I really do know how you feel Stan, may it pass quickly.

And yes, thank god they're not caused by meat!!!!!

Thanks guys, I am doing better , but this tube in my side is a "Bummer".I go back on the 20th to maybe get it out and do some more Cat scans to see how things are going...

.

JJ, being at home until they pass is pure agony

,I wish I still had some of the Dilaudid....Hehehehe

The worst thing is I have  Stint in the Kidney and a damn tube coming out my side that constantly leaks all over my side(I have to change skivies 2 to 3 times a day,( I had to have Trish go out and get some back-up undies) , geeese , don't know what I did to deserve all this , and it keeps coming back.

However,my little problem is of no consequience , Beer - B -  que needs our prayers. so wish me a quick recovery and send all your Prayers to Paul...

he needs them , not me...
