And I'm the only bourbon drinker in the family.

This is my favorite. It is so good, I don't even share it with my best friendsNeeley… got some good bottles there in your collection. I just found one to add to mine when I stopped at costco this afternoon. I have never seen this in stores before. Hope it is good. The 15 stars 8 & 15 i picked up on my last outing is really good.

You can't go wrong with Knob Creek. All the better Jim Beam products are tops in their class.A little something for the weekend.
You're not wrong. The barrel proof JD is one of my absolute favorites. Dickel's makes a nice line of bourbons too. But outside of KY and TN, I've not tasted a distiller I thought was worth the price of the bottle.I must have tried hundreds of different brands over the years...I must be the odd man out because I always go back to "Old Number 7" JD
Sweet, I don't even golf, and I would've tossed in $40 to give it a shot.Score. So I was in a golf outing Saturday. On the practice green they had 2-3 dozen bottles set up on one end (green is probably 100 feet long), spaced about a foot apart. All varieties. For 5 bucks a ball, you got to putt a ball, from the other end of the green (maybe 65 feet away) towards the bottles. If you hit one, it's yours. WTH, I put in $20 for four tries. Missed the first one, hit the next three (this is more luck than skill). Luckily I hit bottles that I will drink. View attachment 734186
I love the E.T.L, can't find it out here, so I drink Blanton's and Rare Eagle.Part 1 of my bourbon haul from my latest trip to Kentucky.

The Bardstown High Wheat, Green River Full Proof Wheated, and little bottle of Peerless, I purchased at Evergreen liquor store in Bardstown. These are all bottles that are difficult or impossible to find in WA state. The Elmer T. Lee was a surprise allocation at Buffalo Trace. They had them stacked up in the entrance to the gift shop, and if you wanted one, they slapped a wristband with a special QR code on me that I had to show at the checkout. One per visitor. If I remember right, I think it was $82.99? I'll have to check when I find the receipt. Everyone I saw was leaving with some. They had a lot of E.H. Taylor small batch going out the door, too. My buddy picked up one of those.

At Maker's Mark, I bought a special bottling, and a regular one with Margie Samuels' likeness. Profits for that one were going for a children's education fund. You can see that I went a little overboard, dipping them in the wax myself. Pfft, amateur.
At Woodford Reserve, we went on the special $125 tour, and got to taste some whiskies that weren't even for sale to the general public. I bought 2 of their 12-year American Single Malts. To me, this has an uncanny flavor of banana-nut bread.
Part 2 will arrive shortly. I bought too much to haul home from my relatives at Neeley Family distillery, in Sparta, and they are being shipped soon.
I love the OO Woodford's, our Costco, Sam's, has it at times. Lately they have had Booker's little book, which is killer. I wish I could afford to drink it regularly.Neeley… got some good bottles there in your collection. I just found one to add to mine when I stopped at costco this afternoon.
