Since I had to work on July 4th, I decided to have my little Q today...Been scoring on the .99/pound briskets at Kroger's. Sale ends Wednesday...Also, bought some seasonal Abita beer and some bourbon for the smoke...It's at 152 internal right now. Going to be a late night...

Thanks Rick. I wanted to try the rub out of Smoke and Spice, Wild Willy's One-derful Rub....Would like to make a good Bourbon BBQ sauce...Anyone have good recipe? Thanks

Here is the rub recipe...
  • 3/4 cup paprika
  • 1/4 cup ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne

Lookin' fine! I envy you...was gonna do one myself, but, unfortunate circumstances changed my mind for me...sniff, sniff...

Keep it coming! I'll be up for awhile yet.

Eric

looks good. Man do you want ot go buy me a couple of briskets and mail them to me...it would be cheaper for me to do that then buy them at the store here.

Can't wait to see the finished product.

Great deal on the briskets and that one is looking mighty good!!

In my dream I couldn't find a brisket that cheap around here.
It looks absolutely amazing.
Was never sure how well an apple would hold up during a long smoke so I never used one, seems to work just fine and dandy.

Very nice job on the Brisket! They never sell 'em that cheap around here..

Thanks. Brought it to 205, pulled and put the Food Saver to work for later consumption...Tasted pretty good...Bottom fell out of the sky last night during the last few hours of the smoke...

.99/pound???? I would have bought a freezer full of those!
Nice looking end product.

Not only did you score on the price of that meat, the smoke looked like it was successful as well!! Nice looking brisky!

This makes me want some brisket. I have never smoked a brisket but it is on my list for sure now..

I got a great sauce recipe from the makers mark site, and try drinkin it, too!
