fxsales, you can be a grumpy gus. It's allowed

the "featured" banner is still on the home page (accessed by clicking the site logo) and also on the "forums" page

You can toggle between light and dark mode at the top right of the forum. You should see a moon/sun/gear icon. Otherwise light or dark will default to your device setting/preferences.

Are you using the light or dark mode? You have the ability to toggle it easily in the navigation:

System will automatically detect your preferred light/dark mode on your device (some phones as an example turn on dark mode at certain times). Or you can just force light/dark.

I don't like the featured thread vs the old spinner. Also there is no moon / sun or any other ucon in the upper right to change background for me. I'm on Android / Chrome and it's not there.

My computer brings me directly to the New Posts page. I set it to dark mode and pick a thread and have to set it to dark mode as well. When I return to New Posts it is back to light mode. The next thread is still dark mode. Just seems the new posts page will not stay in dark mode.

Interesting... might be a caching issue. If you set your style variation to "Dark" here: https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/account/preferences does it in end in the same result?

Much better, bright white text is much easier on the old mk1 eyeballs.

I'm not seeing an indication of which threads are pinned at the top of a forum. This makes it more difficult to pick out where the new things start.

IDK, the red text and washed out gray text in dark mode is harder to read. The light mode is easier to read, but too bright.

All text that is currently dull gray needs to be white, member info, sig lines, time stamps,tool buttons such as Report and Edit, and etc.
I personally have no problem with the red text, but bright yellow might be easier for some.
