Starting around the beginning of the week I've been waking up with pain in my lower back. It's been getting progressively worse each day and the pain this morning and yesterday seems to be focused in on my right kidney.

Not looking for a pity party here, but before I knew it I was typing "kidney pain" into the search box of... you guessed it... SMF.

No, I didn't find any good recipes

I bet ya found a good recipe on how to smoke one though.
Hope you figure it out.

It comes and goes. Heat helps..

I should go to the doctor but I had plans to smoke ribs and drink beer all day.

In all seriousness I was actually in tears this morning.

I have some T3's leftover from a toothache earlier this year but I may be headed north for work next week and I don't want to fail a piss test.

You can't work with that sort of pain. I had the same sort of thing happen 3 weeks ago. I'd been getting pains in the lower back kidney area and one morning I couldn't even stand up straight. Ripped a towel rack off the shower wall....
I broke down & called into work (which I never have done) and let the Mrs drive me to a clinic. Turns out it was muscle spasms caused by who knows what. I was glad to hear that was all it was.
You need to get it checked, Duke.

Duke, God bless you I have had to have 2 removed the last one was over 3 centimetre long and the size of my pinky. With multiple that the Dr didn't even know about. I normally know when there moving down.
If it is a stone try to collect it so the Dr can analyze it to help prevent them from coming back.
Best of luck I know what your going through.

Thanks guys.

It's not as serious as I thought. Last Thursday I had fallen asleep on the couch and woke up the next morning with a stabbing pain between my shoulders. It had gone away the next day so I hadn't thought much about it.

After a weekend in on and off pain, Ms. Duke noticed that my left shoulder was lower than my right shoulder. My back was out. The muscles along the right side of my spine were hard as a rock and the pain was shooting to the one side of my lower back.

I've spent all week stretching and sleeping on the floor and today feels much better. Day two without any pain medicine. Fingers crossed.

If the pain returns, I'll be going to see a chiropractor asap.

Thanks again for all the well wishes.

Good to hear! I've been told that a great many back problems are muscle related rather than a spine issue (or Kidneys!). I don't know about you, but those of us who are no longer "Spring Chickens" take a little longer to recuperate. Take it easy. By the way, a company named Anheuser-Busch makes a pretty good over the counter pain med, but they recommend not falling asleep on the couch...

Seems like you were all right. It was both problems. Back and kidney. How do I know this? I passed a stone today.

This has been quite the week.

I have never had stones, but my wife gets them a lot.

Be glad its out, finally.
