That time of year to clean fridges, freezers and update Freeze app. Man I hate this! I got to stop buying fish until I need it. I threw quite a bit away that was old. Probably should save some to use as bait. I did find some venison in there!

Time to make some Salsa. Hatch peppers already roasted.

First time in 3 years Wild Mustang Grape produced. Going in the morning before it gets over 100 to pick.

Question. I normal just can the juice and use when needed. A buddy freezes his. Claims its better. What do you think is better? May take me couple years to use.

My freezer problem is like my wife's sewing supplies problem. Not an inch to spare most of the time. I haven't thrown too much stuff out though. It's so bad, I need to walk over to my parent's house through the woods to get a couple packs of ham slices because my side by side and over-under are stuffed to gills...I literally use some of my parent's freezer space!

Going in for hernia surgery tomorrow...that'll slow my butt down for a while and clear out some easy button stuff in there as the wife takes over making dinner for a while. Gotta keep me away from sales! It's a sickness...

Brian according to both USDA and FDA meat is good indefinitely if frozen. Quality can degrade over time or freezer burn can occur if not vacuum sealed but it is safe to use. https://ask.usda.gov/s/article/How-long-can-you-freeze-beef Link has further links for all meats which say the same thing. Vacuum sealed I've found quality to still be excellent at 2 or even 3 years.

Most of what I tossing is fish that did not look good. They in there original vacuum pack. I not buying anymore until I think I will cook it. I did get Rainbow Trout at HEB today but will be smoked soon. Had a bunch of that veg stock Dave like for his ham injection. I had to buy a case on Amazon to get it and I did not like it.

Thanks all. So far doing exceptionally good. Already up and down stairs after 24 hours and only severe pain if I cough. Thankfully I haven't had to sneeze yet, that's going to hurt! 23 years ago was much worse. This might be one of those "fake outs" where you feel great then it all comes crashing down but I'm going to try going off the opioids this afternoon and maybe try some bourbon instead!

Very thankful so far. Doc says Ice, Ice, Ice and it really helps far more than a sprained ankle, etc. No throbbing, which is amazing...so far...
