Funny update: I got the igniter kit today and when unboxing it I saw that it has a battery compartment. I have never seen a battery powered igniter before. Sure enough I grabbed a AA battery and replaced the one under the BBQ and it works fine.We have a Weber Spirit II that is about 7 or 8 years old. It is pretty well built and still looks like new even being uncovered. I don't touch it but the wife uses it now and then.
The igniter just went out a few days ago. I just ordered a replacement kit for $17 Black Friday week sale.
Sounds like something I would do! I put the cart before the horse too often.Funny update: I got the igniter kit today and when unboxing it I saw that it has a battery compartment. I saw in the picture you posted that it had the battery type . Should also have the match holder / extender thing . Mine hangs inside the door on a chain .I got the igniter kit today and when unboxing it I saw that it has a battery compartment.
weird...mine is a cap that you unscrew from the front by the knobs. takes 1 AA...should probably put a fresh rechargeable in there now that I think about it. After it stops snowing of course.I saw in the picture you posted that it had the battery type . Should also have the match holder / extender thing . Mine hangs inside the door on a chain .
I never knew what that was for....now decades later I have been schooled! bahahahYeah , mines the same . Also has the " back up " match holder for lighting if the battery is dead .
Hangs on a chain , inside the door .

Thanks chopsaw, I actually wouldn't have thought to do that! Being nothing fancy I figured its kind of run-of-the mill here.Nothing wrong with that . Nice grill , I bet you'll like it and it should last a long time .
Show it off when you get it going .
It's a great feature , and it works . Gives you a pretty good idea of what's in the tank . It can be a bitch to get on the hook at times , but that's ok .I also dig the tank mount with the scale, at least in theory,
I don't think so . Good food is good food .I actually wouldn't have thought to do that! Being nothing fancy I figured its kind of run-of-the mill here.
