We have a Weber Spirit II that is about 7 or 8 years old. It is pretty well built and still looks like new even being uncovered. I don't touch it but the wife uses it now and then.

The igniter just went out a few days ago. I just ordered a replacement kit for $17 Black Friday week sale.
Funny update: I got the igniter kit today and when unboxing it I saw that it has a battery compartment. I have never seen a battery powered igniter before. Sure enough I grabbed a AA battery and replaced the one under the BBQ and it works fine.

Sounds like something I would do! I put the cart before the horse too often.

I've started doing better at keeping manuals organized to refer to. But of course in the age of the internet, paper manuals are less and less needed.

My igniter is not working. How do I fix it?

I saw in the picture you posted that it had the battery type . Should also have the match holder / extender thing . Mine hangs inside the door on a chain .
weird...mine is a cap that you unscrew from the front by the knobs. takes 1 AA...should probably put a fresh rechargeable in there now that I think about it. After it stops snowing of course.

Yeah , mines the same . Also has the " back up " match holder for lighting if the battery is dead .
Hangs on a chain , inside the door .

Been years since I used a fireplace match or other match for that reason.on anything, but I remember the manual saying that when I assembled a grill way back in the day. "Aim-N-Flames" hadn't come around yet back then.

I do keep some wood matches in a ziplock bag as a prepper supply though!

I guess I can only blame myself since I put it together but that was 7 or 8 years ago. Looking back I installed the legs on it so I must have attached the battery compartment when I did that. I likely added a battery at that time.

I still claim ignorance since I have never used it since the day it was bought. I am the anti Hank Hill and have kept to wood an avoided gas for many years.

The kit did not include a chain. I would have assumed it was to connect your belt to a wallet like from the movies.

Well, I've decided that this grill is the best match for my situation. It's 4" deeper front to back than my current grill which DOES matter because of where I keep it, just inside the garage door on the left as you are facing it, but tucked away so a vehicle can still park in there.

That larger depth might be a slight problem with clearing the opening between the garage door jamb and the rear of the van that parks in there, but no other grill out there is the exact same size as my current grill and I dont want to drop down to a two burner

It's a little longer than I wanted too, but just realized the left table/shelf on it folds down which will help a lot in that space.

Looks like full price it is. No "clearance" after Christmas pricing I was hoping for. I want to get one because it looks like they might be phasing these out or something. This one doesn't exist on the Weber site in LP. The two larger wheeled configuration and the controls orientation I want is hard to find.

Think I will have it delivered for free rather than them assembling it. I feel like I am probably as or more qualified to put it together than anyone, and want to make sure I get everything in the box.

Thanks for all the feedback everybody.

Nothing wrong with that . Nice grill , I bet you'll like it and it should last a long time .
Show it off when you get it going .

Update:

So, I was having a hard time checking out online. It was showing me the full price but wouldn't give me my 5% Lowe's card discount. After trying chat (useless) I called the local store and they have really improved their customer service. There was a time reaching anyone by phone was impossible. They looked it up and sure enough it was on clearance but the site wasn't offering me that price...yet still wasn't giving me the discount on the full price.

So I got cleaned up and went up there (bout 5 miles) armed with the info and picked it up for $455. The regular price was $569. Since you get no points on the Lowe's Card on something already on sale I just used another card with points to get at least 1-2% more!

On top of that, customer service told me they had two in receiving in the back and one floor display when I called. When the dude brought the box out from the back for me and I went to customer service to buy it, there was the second one sitting there...someone had already claimed it. I got the last one! Box was in fantastic shape, hardly a scratch so I feel good about it. Score! I still had the web page open on my PC at home, when I went to close that and remove it from my cart after getting back home, it turned red and said it wasn't available. That close to missing the deal...at least nearby.

Thanks chopsaw, I actually wouldn't have thought to do that! Being nothing fancy I figured its kind of run-of-the mill here.

It's time for a new grill and I found it very hard to find the right fit for my situation. Now I just hope the heating is more even. Old grill has a terrible hot spot.

I also dig the tank mount with the scale, at least in theory, I haven't assembled it yet.

It's a great feature , and it works . Gives you a pretty good idea of what's in the tank . It can be a bitch to get on the hook at times , but that's ok .

Just saw that one has the tank on the outside , so that won't be bad . Mines in the cabinet .

I don't think so . Good food is good food .
I use mine to do fried chicken and wings .
