Had a snow storm come through today

I like a good snow storm, but I hate the wind and the drifts that follow. I have a couple of vehicles that can go through 2 feet of snow but neither can handle 4-5 foot drifts.

We're seeing that right now in Vt.. Normally a 45 minute drive home from work took 1.5 hrs. Two cars off the road that I saw. Folks just get dumber every year. Except that on feller from Texas. I don't think he has ever seen snow before. LOL funny watching him.

Me too... In a picture...
That someone texted us from up north. Wait you don't have a phone for texting.

My favorite tongue in cheek statement for year and years
"The worst snowflakes are the idiots behind the steering wheel!"

No snow yet in the lowlands of the PNW, but we're at the beginning of an "atmospheric river" that's supposed to dump up to 6" of rain in the few days. All in all, I'd rather have the rain than the snow. At least I can drive my Challenger in the rain.

No snow, but 2" to 7" of rain in the past 24 hours. Can you imagine if that would be snow?
The panhandle got to experience that earlier this year.

Buddy of mine that lives down by Chehalis sent me a video of the creek behind his property that is up 3' in the past 24 hours

Currently a whopping -5* here. In another hour it'll be time for my morning walk. Hoping it warms up a bit.

It's bad enough when you have to throw chains on a semi for work...it's even worse when you have to do it on your snowblower. 😡🤬

And they're still not tight enough but I'm out of time. I'll have to tinker with it more tomorrow night. These knobby tires it difficult to get them as tight as you need them.

It's snowing here... shut the state highway down. Semis jacknifed, cars piled up and in the ditch. Stopped at a restaurant for lunch, now sitting in restaurant bar waiting for a clearing. No ambulance service as the ambulance did a transport and hasn't returned.

At least it's warm!

I'm getting to the point where I'm looking at smallish tractors, but the prices these days make me hesitate. Would love to find a well cared for used tractor with the accessories I want and pay much less. First and foremost on that list is 4wd! Second is diesel. Third would a plow for the front loader. Fourth would be a back blade. Anything on top of those four would be extra chocolate chips in the cookies.

I ran across this today. When I build my new home on land, I plan to have the Tacoma fitted for this. Cheaper than a regular snowplow and no hydraulics needed.

It might be worth a look for you.

Thank you so much for this! I already have a 2" front receiver for my 2500HD, just need to throw it on the truck. The price is the pretty much the same that I paid for my snow blower. I'll keep the snow blower until I figure out whether I want to keep it or sell it. Will have to wait until next winter, though. I hate working on vehicles, even just changing the oil, during the winter.

Again, thanks for the link! I always wondered why no one ever came up with a plow like this before.

MileHighSmokerGirl MileHighSmokerGirl .. When ordering ask about ordering spare cutting blades and end caps... They look suspect to me for getting damaged easy... I would be easy running it into big piles ...

I plan to have the Tacoma fitted for this.

We are big Toyota fans as well... Tundra (mine) 4runner (hers)

SNOW PLOWS :
FYI: I would be a bit cautious about that Wonder Plow?
Reviews: State not good on hard snow?
That tells me its a very lightweight !
If you can go thru 2 Ft snow with 4 WD?
Why even bother ?
FYI: Plowing Snow messes up yur vehicle !
Puts alot of strain on it, also possible serve damage on it!
Front end, tranny, over all stress.!
I had a pickup truck my 1st car !
Had a plow with it, was going to make $?
WRONG !
The truck was abused due to the plowing !
Its my 2C?
I drove to NY state snow above Lake Placid, NY for 2 years to college.
Never got stuck?
Sorry ?
But I will stop?

I like that it is aluminum and easy to mount and unmount. It will only be used on my driveway and turn around area. Driveway is about 100 yards long, turn around area about 30X50 feet. I won't be looking to make any extra money as everyone who live up here (9100 feet) have there own ways to clear their property. I also don't wait for the snow to get hard. I have a 4X4 2500HD with the Duramax engine with offroad AT tires, with chains which is needed. It takes me about and hour and a half to clear everything with the snow blower. This plow would cut the time down to about 20 minutes.

So, yes I will be getting this very soon but not use it until next winter. But thank for your input. Oh, going through 2 feet of snow over and over it packs the snow down, and if the sun comes out, which most always does after a snow storm, it will turn to ice. The next storm will just be rinse and repeat. Eventually the will be a foot or more ice on the driveway and turn around area. A big bonus would be plowing in the heat of my truck.
