Now that looks like something I could get into for sure.

Points for the recipe, even the bride said she wanted me to make some.
Thank you CB! It is really tasty.

I will caution add the bread crumbs a little at a time. This time it only took half the required amount. I inquired my mom on this and she thinks it had to do with the fact that I used really fine bread crumbs. Normally I would make my own, but I was in a hurry so I used Progresso non-seasoned bread crumbs. They are finer than homemade.

Thanks for that tip!

I may make a batch of these to take to my mother's gathering on Saturday.

Question, any issues using the disposable thin aluminum pie tins for this? (cooking temp difference, etc...)

Taking down the recipe I noticed something, for bread crumbs it states 2 1/2 +/-...  Cups I assume...

Nope those work perfect. That's what these little tins are that I made. In fact these are thinner than any I've ever seen!

Crap! I just realized I forgot to put the bacon fat in! Yikes!

Schmaltz would be great in the pie crust.

Well I had 12 pies, down to ten! Figured I better pack them or they'll be gone before I know it!

All packed up in the 8x12 quart bags, rest for the freezer.

Thanks Justin! Hey are really good. The house will smell great too when cooking them! The allspice, cinnamon and cloves really make the house smell like the holidays.

I will update the first post to include the crust recipe I used.

Great looking pies it's great to save old family recipes and carry on traditions to next generation. I just posted my grandmothers sugar cured ham and sausage recipe yesterday. I'm not much on shepherds pie (don't like the potatoes not much on white potatoes) but this sounds great.
