Today I got advertising..

What the heck is going on? Why do I all of a sudden start getting links for Facebook and all these advertisements?

Did I just get tossed under the bus?

Don't understand what happening and I don't do facebook. I was on facebook but twice my account got hacked and some sh*t got started.
Luckily, just stupid cheap stuff, but I am now facebook free.

I noticed earlier that Jeff and Brian were both on and the SMF premier membership banner changed.
Then there's the fact that SYFY network is running a Twilight Zone Marathon as I type this...DeDeDoDo DeDeDoDo...

I Once had Facebook hacked and the person caused all sorts of havoc.. I had to call friends and family too assure them that my Facebook was hacked and it wasn't me using the account.

Been Facebook free for around 5 years and its one of the best decisions ive ever made

Personally im starting to get tired of having to log in multiple times when visiting this site

If you become a premier member, you have the option to turn off all the ads.
You are also helping to support this forum.
I'm sure it's not cheap to keep this place up & running!

No facebook for me, either. And if you're not on the service, you can't see the content that people put there. I mostly don't care about that but sometimes it ticks me off, like yesterday when I was trying to update a link to a group. Their website was gone, their domain name had expired, a search shows their homepage is on facebook now and I can't see it unless I log in.

It's like a gated community.

Adds at top of the page....bottom of the page....below every fourth post in every thread..... every post that mentions a sponsers name contains a link to an ad. And your encouraged to pay a fee to get rid of it. There has always been ads but this is a little much. Like the new platform or not it has come at a cost to all members.

Almost everything I do online is related to food or smoking.
All my advertisements are for food related stuff.. even 3 yearly subscriptions to food magazines for $5.00 ad on here.. lol

I have an issue, and it shows up at the end of bar where you would type in a website at .. shows that "this page is trying to load scripts from unauthenicated sources" , Not really liking this at all ... and sorta wondering if I can be eliminated from this site completely like i never was a member .. I don't want to be a victim of loosing identity ... never was there before all this advertising ...

If you are a premier member and getting advertising, let me know. This should not be happening.

Advertising is a necessity in order to maintain a website of this size..

This is why we set up a way for folks to eliminate the ads on a personal basis via the premier memberships.

Ok.. I just signed myself up for premier membership status and I'm not seeing any ads anywhere on the forum. It's a wonderful thing.

As I stated earlier, if you are a premier member (you support the forum and I throw a few perks back your way) and you are seeing ads, let me know and we will look into this right away.
