Just sitting here thinking about the last 14 months. Wow alot has gone on. We had the server crash then the big move. Then restoring the site. All that said I cant complain because the site has been online and been solid. Then I look at all the great things people have created on this site and the great things I have had the chance to smoke and do. Then all the new members here and the great older ones too. Its amazing what happens in a little over a year.

Then the wife is prego again and due in Aug. Went thru layoffs at work and survived those.

Cant wait to see what the next 14 months will bring.

I am glad to have shared this time with you all and look forward to the next 14 months.

I thank you for for all you have done for the forum.

Also congrats for the new baby.

I will be here 2 years in May and have learned a lot here.

Here's to another 14 months.

Cheers!

I too am fairly new...new enough to not know about the move or the crash. Can't imagine what I may have missed out on, but then again I can hardly put into action all that I am learning now. Thanks so much for the site and all the combined knowledge of all members here. I'm real glad I found SMF!

Congrats on the new baby and thanks for all you've done and continue to do to keep this great site going.

Hey bmudd, it's nice to reflect especially when the results are good as they have been. You've done a great job as administrator here so kudos to you! And ronp, looks like we share an anniversary. It's been a fast and pleasant two years.

Congratulations on the upcoming arrival Brian.
We have all enjoyed this site thanks to you and the others who help keep it running as smoothly as possible.
And yes, smoking has been a great learning experience, not to mention the friendly folks we interact with throughout the year. Was I through?

Congratulations on the new family member and thanks for all you do here...

Congratulations on your new arrival..I am new here but have really enjoyed my stay here and I thank everyone for being so helpfull..

Brian.. you have been what I like to call a "great asset" to this forum. I shudder when I think that I use to do all this administrative stuff. I am one of those folks that can do almost anything if I put my mind to it but it does not mean that I like it or that I do it as well as someone who actually knows what they're doing.

Thanks for being here and doing what you do.. I know it's a headache sometimes but you are greatly appreciated.

Since you have taken over the admin stuff we have not been hacked, the spam has almost went down to nothing and my headaches have somehow become a lot less frequent.

Congrats on the new addition by the way!!

Congrats on the lil' one, Brian! Definitely glad to have your help around here, and allowing SMF to run smoothly (after the crash)

1st off, let me congratulate you on the soon-to-be family addition, and prospective smoking apprentice

Wow, you said a mouthful about the past 14 months...you really jarred my memory with your mention of the crash and the issues that needed to be resolved because of it. You really brought the forums back to life with all the effort you put into the move and restoration...awesome job you've done, and continue with to this day.

As Jeff stated, spammers/hackers and other forum related issues are all but gone...that says volumes.

Without people like you and the moderators to keep this site clean and healthy, I wouldn't have such a great place to share all the things I've learned since I came here. For that matter, I wouldn't have had such a great a place to come to learn what I have. I thought I was a pretty decent rib smoker for several years, and when I found SMF, my whole outdoor cooking world got turn upside-down! The sky's the limit now, and I owe that to you, the mods, Jeff, and all the great members who have posted their smokes and answered questions here.

Best wishes to you and your family, Brian.

Eric
