Hey guys, I've been in the market for a nice chiminea for my backyard patio. I have to admit I'm being damn picky. I've looked at a lot of them and have yet to find something that suits me. What I'm looking for is a clay fire bowl with clay legs, not wrought iron. Also, I would like a two piece design where the chimney separates from the fire bowl and has a chimney cap. As far as approx detentions go, I'm looking for something with a 24" fire bowl and an overall height of about 60", maybe larger. I've seen some steel, cast aluminum and some cast iron pieces that look nice but don't know squat about them. Please educate me if you have something that you really like.
Any suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Not a chiminea fan here, but I think you may need to reconsider what you think you want and make a few compromises.
From the size you describe this thing is going to be HEAVY !! Far to heavy for clay legs. That may be one reason you are having a hard time finding what you want.
If you have the contact and money, you might be able to find something with a cast iron base and have someone overlay the base with terracotta to match.

Knowing it will be heavy is the reason I would like the chimney to be removable, makes the bowl easier to get a hold of also. Back in 1990 something, I bought my ex-wife the chimney described above and lost it in the divorce. It had clay legs that were about 6" tall and about 3 1/2" in diameter molded to the fire bowl. If I recall correctly, it was around $300 back then.
mosparky, you may be right about an iron base. That's all I'm finding and would be an acceptable compromise.
Solely for ambiance chef jimmyj, you can do marshmallows on one if you are careful. You don't want to get goo all over the terracotta. :emoji_laughing:

Thanks for the link Gary and yes, that is a nice one but I'm not sure if I could move it. Shipping something like that may be a nightmare. I had high hopes of finding one last October when in Albuquerque but no luck. What I saw there were not much better than HD or Lowes offerings and a lot more expensive.
