I can get Taylor Ham/Pork Roll in Syracuse.....

Today i found some in the Fort Drum Commissary for the first time!

Couldn't believe it!

Grabbed 3 rolls in addition to my other items.

Didn't check the price....

Checked out and went to car with my purchases....

Thought to myself, "pretty expensive for what i purchased..."

Pulled out the receipt- $12.99 a pound!

Robbery! Wanted to take it back, but didn't have time, and didn't want the hassle.

Learned my lesson.
Check prices first!

Same here. Why I haven't bought any. You'd have thought it would have been cheaper on base.
Most things are, especially meats.
I also picked up 5 pounds of ground beef for summer sausage, and a new cheese to try smoking.

Anyway, i learned my lesson.
I will ask the commissary manager about the pricing next time I'm there.

I do miss shopping at the PX and commissary's.

Don't shop at PX much anymore.

When i do, it is normally a higher priced item.

The PX prices matches, and is tax free, so the savings can be very good.

But the overall selection, at Fort Drum anyway is pretty poor, in my opinion.

Class VI has some great pricing and no tax, but I'm mainly a beer drinker, so only stop in occasionally. Can grab beer at the PX gas station when i fill up.

I shop online at the exchange. And I've gotten some great deals on electronic items. Love the zero tax and free shipping.

I've never tried that. You should see if they will honor price matching online.

They do. But with a ton of conditions. The prices are fair enough already. I wanted to replace the TV in our bedroom. And wanted one of the ultra 4K thin screen jobs. You have to watch the deals on the site. And often you miss it. But I got this coming.

OUCH! I use the on-line Exchange costs can be close, but the no-tax is a great equalizer. Here is a recipe I found a while back that might help with the sticker shock?🍻
