As many of you know I have been having some major elbow problems for awhile now. After having them injected several times and it not helping they operated on my left elbow Sept 14th. They moved the nerve that runs through the bottom of the elbow and also did a second procedure to repair a tendon on the top of the elbow. While I was out they injected another tendon in hopes that would heal it or at least buy time before another surgery to repair it. The doctor said doing the two procedures was pushing it and no way would he even attempt to repair the tendon he injected while doing the other two procedures. When I woke up after the surgery I found myself with a splint from my upper arm to hand and ace wraps holding it all in place. I was told this is how it would stay until today at which time the stitches would come out and see what was next. Heres how I've spent the last couple weeks

Not real comfortable and makes typing difficult

We were told after surgery not to mess with anything no dressing changes or anything so I didn't even know exactly where the incisions were. Today when they un wrapped it we got our first look at it and its not pretty but hopefully its fixed. They told me today that I can start moving it but no lifting with it and don't push it too hard. Its swollen and very stiff but feels great to have that splint off. I don't go back till the end of the month at which time they'll tell me what's next they said six to eight weeks to recover. I won't post pics of what it looks like right now

Hope it turns out good Jerry. I am sure it doesn't look pretty now, but thanks for the update. Just take it easy and you will be fine.

Thanks for update Jerry. If anybody will get threw this its the PINEYWOODS.........Take Care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tough way to spend a few weeks. But at least you're making progress, and when it's all over, I'm sure you'll be glad you had it taken care of.

Hang in there, see that little dot of light? That's the end of the tunnel.

Looks like yer signalin a turn Jerry!

Glad ta hear it's comin along. Hope that it keeps gettin better. Ya better be carefull, momma can whoop yer backside an you can't defend yerself!

You take care buddy.

Good to see you making progress. I know it can be frustrating, I have had three knee surgery's stemming from a waterskiing accident in 1996...frustrating each time but ultimately worth it.

Good luck and a speedy recovery.
I had my biceps tendon rupture 10 weeks ago, while working on my garage door. They screwed it back in place in my forearm. Did 8 weeks in the same looking arm splint. I am up to two pound curls at physical therapy now. No use of arm for work for 4 more weeks. They are afraid the tendon may not reconnect to the bone. I gues tendons don't grow well.
It does s*ck don't it?
Good luck and God's speed to you.

I wish you all the best I had a elbow surgery several years back and all in all it turned out good. It is just a slow recovery, lots of therapy before I could return to work.

Jerry, glad to know you're showing signs of improvement. May you continue to heal at God's speed. The least time in the hospital, the better. Best of luck my friend.

Glad to hear you're getting patched back up...take it slow and listen to what your arm & doc tell ya...they both know what's best.

I'll patiently await your next q-view...

Until then, I'll throw on a couple things for ya to look at Thursday while I'm off work for a couple days.

Easy does it, Jerry.

Eric

I see ya got it bacon-wrapped, what kinda rub can you use on it? I'd do it low and slow at 80° for 6-8 wks, turning slowly until it's done...
