I've been doing a lot of things lately and really haven't done anything for my bride, so tonight I surprised her with a surf and turf feast.

Ribeye steaks (medium rare), lobster tails, and portobello mushrooms.

I split the tails down the middle and then slather them with a mixture of the following: 1/2 cup EVOO, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp paprika, and 1/2 tsp kosher salt. After brushing it on the flesh side I let them sit in the frig for at least 1/2 hour.

I do the exact same thing with the mushrooms

I use the same mixture on the steaks, but I also grind black pepper over them. They don't go in the frig, I let them sit on the counter until the grill is ready.

I didn't get a good pic of the steaks on the grill, but the tails turned a beautiful color!

Then, we dined! We are stuffed!

That's a beautiful plate Charlie...nicely done! Point for posting such a tasty looking meal, and for doing something so nice for your bride! Thumbs Up

Smoozing the bride to get more shop time is.....

good strategy, I do it often! Nice vittles!

"Vittles"? Hey I'm OLD school! Stress on the old.

Points, just cuz I learned how!

Bruce

BTW, you didn't really split the portobellos, eh? Must be the CR!

Wow, after a meal like that, what are you gonna do for your anniversary?

That looks like an anniversary dinner to me!

Nice job Charlie!

I understand the extended travel, stay safe and get home soon.

Wow Charlie!  That looks great.  I asked my wife what she wanted for Valentine's dinner and she said turkey burgers..ooof.  Opposites attract i guess haha.  That steak an lobster looks incredible!
