It's probably "search engine optimization" where they're trying to make their spam show up at the top of search results. Putting their (partial) phone number into Google brings up the same spam on dozens of boards:

https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=91-9876751387

That's fine for them if you already know their number, but searching for something like lottery astrologer brings up none of it.

Just had to say, I know it's a bit annoying when we get spam-attacked, but I hope everyone realizes what a great job our mods and admins do to keep things running smoothly around here.

Early yesterday morning, just as I was logging on, there was a batch of a dozen or so get through. I started flagging them as they appeared on the front page. By the time I got them all flagged (only a few minutes time), Brian already had them removed (At least I assumed it was Brian...he was the only admin I saw logged in at that time). No spam filter is gonna catch everything, but when bad stuff does manage to get through, our staff does an excellent job of clearing it out quickly.

Kudos to all our mods and admins! :Thumbs Up: You guys are doing great...and it's much appreciated!

Luckily I live in Hawaii and stores are always running spam as specials! Just before Christmas most stores had spam for ~$1.50 a can! I stocked up...
I was watching the "How is it Made" program and they were showing Spam It's really not all leftover bits and pieces. We have eaten Spam for years around here and when I was a kid it was cheap

Another thing they said was Hawaii is the #1 consumer of Spam.

Its called the Hawaiian steak..... They serve spam at burger kings in HI

Interesting, moments ago I saw a heck of a lot of the spam threads.  Now they're gone.  Good job to whomever.

Uh oh.....Baba is back but with a slightly different name.   What happens if a member clicks on their name and then click "Block Member"?
