2 Smoked Hocks

Beans soaked over night

Bacon Grease

Onion & Carrots Saute in the grease

Drain an rinse beans

Return to pot cover with water cook on high

Add Meat an Skin back to the beans

Finish an serve with garlic bread

Do you work with barley much? I've made that same soup with barley instead of beans. Yesterday I made a batch with beef bullion cubes instead of the hocks, and a full pack of white mushrooms.

But yes, this is soup weather. Here now its 14F and windy.

BW Most of my Barley soups are with beef an shrooms.I used chicken bullion to cook the hocks,hocks I have mage with almost every kind of bean.

Richie, I don’t think they know what to predict anymore. We were forecasted to have 12+ inches. We got about 8” and then changed over to rain and now freezing rain.

It’s a slushy heavy mess, I might need TWO bowls of that soup.

Dang, soups on. Looks hearty there, starting to drop here now. Didnt get flooding rains but no snow also. Daughters beef veg started yesterday, been on low since then, gonna go grab a bowl or three.
