Hey all! I seen @indaswamp soup and could not get it out of my mind! Pete and I have been on a soup kick for the last few days!

I will not get into depth…

Here is Keith’s thread I followed as best as I could!

We sure enjoyed the soup! We had most the basic ingredients! I did sub some… we used mini Bella’s as no access to the shrooms Keith had!

I did finally nail my first roux… for some I know roux is easy… but I have struggled making one!

Here’s some pics…

Well you did it to me Justin, now I've got to make it...😄

Ha, I don’t think you’ll regret trying this Charles… was very unique and tasty! I know you have a helper and I’ll bet she would like this too! Thanks for the like as well bud!

Soup looks delicious! Would love a bowl of that, especially this time of the year.

Thanks so much, yea it’s definitely soup weather. Was -35* night before last with the wind chill!

Appreciate ya dropping a line and the like.

Fantastic looking soup Justin

Point for sure
Chris

Appreciate it Chris, thanks bud for dropping a line and the point… much appreciated!

Gonna fire up the kettle in the next while… I think of you and the beer pole when I fire it up!

I went and found some more oyster mushrooms today. FYI, the best way to save them for future meals is to saute them in onion and butter, then freeze them.....

Good for you Keith… that’s awesome!

Would that method work for all or most shrooms?

Justin , your soup and the take on Keiths @indaswamp soup looks and sounds great.
Your roux seems like it worked for you.

soup seems to be the goto in these cold days.

David

Thanks David, appreciate the kind words. It was very tasty for sure!

Yea, I finally nailed a roux… I have to learn to be more patient. I was pretty happy to finally get one nailed!

Yea, I agree… definitely soup weather. Was -35* here night before last.
