just got some very dry ash from my neighbor
and wondering if it is a good wood to smoke with

Ash is the primary that we get for firewood in the state parks around here. I use it in combination with oak charcoal and sometimes throw some other chips of something in.

The ash by itself to me doesn't really add a "smoky" flavor. To be honest, it really fits its name, it tastes ashy. Also if really dry ash will burn like cotton balls.

thanks for the info we will mix with other hardwoods when cooking
