Finally got a chance to run the new to me Smokefire through it's paces. Earlier today I ran it for a bit and verified it was working properly. Nothing fancy here but thought I'd share the results of my first cook on it. Four pork tenderloins rubbed with a local jerk dry rub. I used Lumberjack competition blend pellets and smoked at 200F until they hit about 85F and kicked it up to 250F. I turned them once to get the outside sealed on both sides. Pulled at 138F to let them cruise to 145F. Very pleased with the results. Nice hint of smoke, although not apparent in pics there is a light 1/4" smoke ring. Very juicy. I'll be stocking up on the jerk seasoning for sure. First time I've used it. Thanks to Rich for answering 100 questions on the Smokefire. I'll likely do some ribs for the 4th on it.

Thanks for looking!

Those are spot on . That's a great cook for that too . You got some nice color on those .

That's my plan too . Get your self a spray bottle . Might need to do some spritzing on the longer cooks .

Nicely done Jeff. Tenderloins are my favorite cut of pork and you did a fantastic job on them. I've got a feeling you and that smoke fire are going to be very happy together.

Point for sure
Chris

First cook and nailed it Jeff!
I'm sure they were great!
Seriously considering on myself but just starting to use the kettle every weekend.

Those look great! at 138*F INT, cooked perfectly too. Reminds me I need to put more pork tenderloins on the grill soon. Bet that Jerk seasoning was good too. I'll have to try that on pork tenderloin. Congrats on the maiden voyage carousel ride..

Thanks guys for all the kind comments. I just had some leftover for supper tonight and I'm honestly blown away by the smoke flavor on such a short cook. Looking forward to more experiments with it.

Yup . The SmokeFire gives a great smoke profile . I knew the leftovers would be better than the day of .
I run the tenderloins and stuff like medium rare beef in smoke boost or at 200 the entire cook . Stuff that finishes at a lower IT can be done that way , and it gives a great smoky finish .
