I'm been lucky enough to start grilling and smoking at a very young age. First cook was on a 1948 dodge hubcap and wire grate. Chickens hanging on the clothesline ready to be dipped and plucked, dressed and grilled. Those were the days! I was on the BBQ circuit and had some success. Now I'm kicked back and retired on the farm learning some new smoking methods. I'm struggling with The Masterbuilt Propane Elite Sportsman. Never had any use for any other fuel other than good ole Texas post oak. I'm looking forward to joining in! Thank you for the privilege tott be a part of MeatForums.com. Pits that I use: 500 gallon custom offset, Weber Smokey Mountain, Big Pappa 55 gal. vertical, and the new Masterbuilt

Hi Yardbird!
Welcome to:

Sounds like you have a nice arsenal of BBQ cannons to pick from.
Many, including myself, have found that by adding an AMNPS, the Masterbuilt becomes a worthy addition to easy smoking and/or a nice outdoor oven.
I highly modified my little MES 30 so I can enjoy smoking butter to butts. Cold smoking to Hot smoking.
But my main use is the cold smoking end, like Salmon, Bacon now, and nuts.
I welcome any experience you'd care to share. :)

Thanks for the welcome and I just took the first tip. Ordered ANMPS and pellets today. Now maybe I can turn out some consistent beef jerky!!

Welcome to the forum glad to have you. Memories looking back at my younger days of plucking chickens and hoof animal processing.
